Fruit to Vegetable Substitutes

If you are someone who does not have the acquired taste for vegetables, here is a list of fruit to vegetable substitutes that you can eat to obtain the nutrients vegetables provide:

Green beans - Vitamin K – Kiwi

Green beans are a major source of Vitamin K, If you do not like green beans, you can substitute them for Kiwi or the other way around!

You can eat kiwi fresh as a dessert or add them to your smoothies. Saute green beans and eat them for lunch or dinner. Check out some of our recipes in our other blog posts.

Carrots – Vitamin A – Grapefruit

Carrots are a great source of Vitamin A. Substitute grapefruits for carrots to get the same amount of Vitamin A.

Grapefruit can be eaten fresh or can be juiced with other fruits. Some like to add salt or sugar to help with the bitterness of Grapefruit.

Broccoli – Fiber – Avocado

Broccoli is a major source of fiber and is very beneficial in other nutrients such as: potassium, fatty acids, and is considered a super food.

Use avocado as a base in your smoothies, add them to your salads, or eat them with chips with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lime.

Peppers – Vitamin C – Orange

Peppers are beneficial in Vitamin C. Vitamin C is a super nutrient that helps to aid you in the development of body tissue, iron, and advances the immune system. Vitamin C is imperative in curing sicknesses and diseases.

Eat oranges in place of peppers, or vice versa. Peppers are great to sautee, eat as a substitute for meat in tacos, or to eat with mushrooms and other vegetables.

Eat oranges as a fruit dessert or juice into a fresh orange juice drink.

Onions – Anti-Oxidants – Grapes

Grapes are a great substitute for onions if you have not acquired the taste for them. This fruit and vegetable combo are antioxidants which produce a chain reaction to help keep the cells of organisms healthy and generating.
